House rules
A warm welcome! We wish you a restful stay in the Harz.
- 01We ask all guests to treat the furnishings and fittings with care so that the next guests can also enjoy a well-kept and intact holiday home. If damage does occur, please contact us or Ms Müller. On arrival please check the furnishings, linen, crockery and household items and report any defects immediately.
- 02The house is non-smoking.
- 03Animals of any kind, breed or size are expressly not allowed (exception: Chalets Tierfreund). In this case entry to the house will be refused and the rent paid is forfeited without any claim to compensation.
- 04Please do not wear outdoor shoes on the stairs or anywhere on the upper floor.
- 05Please do not clean the lacquered kitchen fronts (cupboard doors and drawers) with harsh cleaning agents or abrasive sponges. If necessary, wipe only with a soft, damp cloth.
- 06Instructions for the appliances are in the folder in the cupboard in the entrance area. You will also find a folder there with useful tips and explanations (Bergwald Lodge WIKI) about the house and facilities nearby.
- 07Please do not bring skis and ski boots into the house. You can store them in the lockable side room by the house.
- 08You will be shown how to use the sauna.
- 09Tip for lighting the stove: crumple some newspaper, build a “tipi” of thin, dry wood over it and light it. Only lean thicker logs against the back wall once the wood has caught. For a thorough clean of the glass, newspaper, water and a little ash from the stove work best. Please never use other cleaning agents, window cleaner or abrasive sponges! Clean the ash pan and combustion chamber only with the special ash vacuum. On departure please leave the stove cold and free of ash so the next guests find it clean. Only dry wood may be burned in the stove! If you need firewood, you can buy dry logs at any DIY store or at NP (the village supermarket on Brockenstraße).
- 10Please separate your waste. There are bottle banks in the car park of “NP”. At the house there is a paper bin (blue) and a general waste bin (black). Organic waste and cold ash also go in the general waste bin. The cupboard under the sink has a waste separation system.
- 11In winter, ice and snow can make it difficult to reach the parking spaces in front of the house. Please do not park on other people’s property without permission. Guests must clear fresh snow on the property themselves.
Thank you for your understanding!
